My Life with a Rolling Relic My Life with a Rolling Relic

Someone once told me that people who drive older cars are heroic. While that is flattering, it's just not the case. It's more like reckless - althought not in a cool James Dean sort of way, but a stupid, blissfully ignorant of "how bad a wreck would be" sort of way. It's been a year and a half since I bought my old car. I figured it was time to write about the experience.

It’s happening - you can feel it - it’s a war between safety and speed, between fun, function and fashion. The first car phenomenon occurs twice in life; once when you get your first car and again when your first child gets theirs (thereafter, with subsequent children, somewhat less phenomenal) and no matter which side of the debate you’re on, your choices are anything but clear cut.

Welcome to the latest installment of HUUCBOTW, where the cars are actually more reliable than CNN's reporting. This week, we turn our attention to the greatest country in the world: this one! (Results may vary).

Is there anything more American than squeezing ridiculously pitiful amounts of horsepower out of oversized, lethargic engines? If you answered no, then you're wrong! The answer was "over-optimistic misguided patriotism." However, seeing as this is a car-related website, let's just pretend the first answer was correct.

The Concept Car is a Tired Concept The Concept Car is a Tired Concept

Once upon a time, the idea of the concept car was understood as an expression of what was theoretically possible, what the future might look like when automotive dreams ran wild. These often impractical concepts stirred the imagination and the soul and set consumers to imagining the impossible. There was a time when the concept car was a real thing. I can’t be alone in thinking that time has passed.

Ferrari 360 Modena: Can It Daily? Ferrari 360 Modena: Can It Daily?

The Ferrari 360 Modena is a high-strung performance machine, allowing its driver a standard of performance unmatched by anything with a sub six figure price tag. But what if you're Doug Demuro, have some errands to do, and don't feel like taking the Nissan Cube in your garage? Can the Ferrari be driven as if it were a Fiesta?

Close your eyes and imagine that you’re at a car rental place in 2008. What do you see? Camrys, Sebrings, Taurii, maybe a few Yukons and a shitload of Impalas, right? Right. Now imagine you actually want to rent one. Which one would you choke down your masculinity for? Probably a Chrysler 300, if we’re completely honest.
But what about plan B?

When Life Gives You a Lemon... When Life Gives You a Lemon...

There are cars that inspire excitement and promote a sense of status and luxury, and then there are cars that force us to challenge our preconceived notions of what qualities a car should have, and gives us something completely new - for better or worse. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the story of how I bought a car with one of the most divisive and opinionating designs ever made - the iconic Ford Taurus. Wagon.
  • Here's The Real Reason Why /DRIVE Started Charging For Content

If you're a car enthusiast, chances are, you've seen a /DRIVE video, but you probably also saw that they were one of the first major channels that have moved to a premium model of content, meaning that each month, the subscriber gets charged to watch the high-quality videos the channel puts out. Admittedly, people were pissed and many theories came about as to why a channel with that many loyal followers would do such a drastic move. Mike Spinelli, one of /DRIVE's main personalities, puts all the rumors to rest in a quite reasonable way.

Regular Car Reviews may be the funniest car channel on the internet today, bar none. It combines quick-witted, super-specific references with toilet humor and insightful commentary to make something that you can't help but binge watch. In this edition of Offtrack, I sat down with Mr. Regular as he explained to me why Delaware isn't such a great state and why people get weird when they meet celebrities. This may get odd.
